Activities

Enforcement of Environment regulations particularly covered under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 as amended from time to time and rules there under, is the primary responsibility of the committee. The Pollution Control Committee ensures implementation of provisions under these Acts and Rules by the following ways:

• Issue of Consents for establish and operate to the industries and developmental projects.
• Monitoring of Air, water, and Noise pollution.
• Implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016
• Implementation of Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
• Implementation of Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016.
• Implementation of E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016.
